Colin Clifford

Born and bred in Yorkshire Colin is a lifelong cyclist who has spent most of his working life in the Birmingham area running a design consultancy.

Now he wants to introduce as many people as possible to cycling and, specifically, cycling in the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland where he spent much of his time riding when growing up in the area.

He has been a road racer, time triallist, tourer and recently has been racing mountain bikes and enjoying Trailquest events (orienteering on mountain bikes), but most of all he enjoys simply riding a bike and has a wealth of experience to pass on.

He is qualified to teach mountain bike skills as an Off Road Instructor by the CTC (The UK's National Cyclists Organisation).

He is a qualified Trail Cycle Leader with the Scottish Mountain Bike Leader Scheme and he is working as a Level 2 Activity Coach with British Cycling, helping to run the National Go Ride scheme in local schools.

Oh and he also passed his Cycling Proficiency Certificate at 14.

Dot Phillips

Born in Whitehaven, Cumbria, Dot has always been actively involved in a wide variety of sports and took up cycling when she moved to Yorkshire in the 70s to join the Police service.

She enjoyed working in the Dales throughout her career and appreciates how cycling can be a fantastic way of exploring the villages and countryside around Settle.

Now she is looking forward to sharing her cycling experience and knowledge of the Dales with visitors who want to ride out and see the Dales at their best.

Jenny Hodgins

Jenny has lived in Settle, and worked in the Dales for over twenty years, and still loves it. She knows the countryside around here like the back of her hand and has cycled just about every lane and path there is - at least twice.

A keen cyclist Jenny is also an avid walker and has walked not only most of the Dales and the Lakes but also Iceland, South America and the Milford Trek in New Zealand. Jenny will be leading our Guided Walks, that we are introducing shortly, again taking advantage of the railway to reach the very best walking in the Dales.

If you would be interested in joining one of her walks give us a call on 01729 824419.
